Phelps Defends Yi Shiwen

“It’s kind of sad that people have a great swim and that’s the first thing they say”

“People who work hard — it shows. There are people who just jump to that conclusion sometimes, and it’s not right.”

The great Michael Phelps has spoken. Perhaps I’m being selective in who I choose to quote, but I think you’ll all agree, it’s a pretty authoritative person I’ve chosen. He surely should know something about what’s possible and what is “suspicious”.

She’s been tested and was clean. So that’s the end of that discussion. Or is it? Lance Armstrong has been tested hundreds of times and was clean, yet he is continually hounded.

@Bittermelon – Yes, of course it’s the end. I don’t understand why some people are still saying they’re suspicious. She has passed the tests for all the banned substances. So if she’s taking something else, it’s not on the list of banned so it’s not cheating.

FYI, her name is Ye Shiwen, if we are talking about the same 16-year-old swimmer.

@AR – Thanks for that contribution!
